JULIA PIGOU

From Christchurch, New Zealand, Julia fell in love with dancing at the age of six when she started lessons at Canterbury Ballet. She joined their full time programme at eighteen; highlights of her next four years of training include competing on an international stage in Prague, and performing with the Aotearoa National Youth Ballet's regional tour of La Bayadère.

Julia joined the Victorian State Ballet as an apprentice in 2017, enjoying the roles of Clara's mother in The Nutcracker and winter fairy in Cinderella, and is looking forward to continuing her career as a company member in 2018.

Julia is excited join MDT's classical staff this year, and looks forward to working with the school's students to achieve success.
